Wendall Carter Jr. finds himself on yet another roster that is about to be going through a major rebuild.

The first and only major loser from the 2021 trade deadline that will be covered is Wendall Carter Jr.

Carter was drafted to the Bulls in the middle of their post-Derrick Rose era rebuild in 2018.

He was projected to become a dynamic duo of the future with Laurie Markkanen, however, neither player has really reached the potential they were thought to possess when they were both drafted.

This could change as he will likely have more touches and play a bigger role on the Magic.

However, as the roster stands today, the Magic are a hodgepodge of young players that do not really mesh well together in any way.

With Orlando never in the history of the league being a key free agent destination, this could lead to a rough and lengthy rebuild that Carter could be stuck as being a part of for years.

While this move may result in Carter having a jump in statistics, the odds are slim that he will see much team success while in Orlando.

Another reason as to why Carter is a loser in the deadline is that the Bulls became a playoff-caliber team just as he is moved off of the roster.
