Boston Celtics: 3 trades they should have made at the deadline
By Zane Harris
#1: Aaron Gordon
The final player that the Boston Celtics should have traded for at the deadline is Aaron Gordon.
It was rumored leading up to the deadline that Gordon would be targeted by the Celtics, however, a deal never worked out.
Gordon was eventually moved from the Orlando Magic in the final hours before the deadline passed. He was traded to the Denver Nuggets along with Gary Clark in return for Gary Harris, R.J. Hampton, and future first-round picks.

A package that could have worked to get Gordon onto the Celtics would have been one or two of the young players that do not see much playing time for the team. Along with, a player like Tristian Thompson or hypothetically Daniel Theis to make the salaries better line up.
Gordan stands at 6’8″ and 235lbs. Despite this being a little undersized for the positions, he is listed as a power forward and arguably could play the center position.
With Gordan on the lineup, two potential lineups would be Kemba Walker at point guard, Jaylen Brown at shooting guard, Jayson Tatum at his natural position of small forward, Aaron Gordan at power forward, and Robert Williams at center.
Another lineup that could work as a possible death lineup would be Walker at point, Marcus Smart at shooting guard, Brown at small forward, Tatum at power forward, and Gordon at center.
This second lineup would be extremely quick and be able to play at a fast pace. Along with this, their 3-point shooting would make them very difficult to guard.
Playing Gordon at the four or five would be a great lineup to stretch the floor. He is shooting the three at a very efficient clip this season. He currently sits at 36.7 percent from three.
The Celtics could have greatly improved their odds of making a deep playoff run if they were able to land these players at the trade deadline. However, time will tell if they made the right moves by holding off on them.
