Boston Celtics: 3 trades they should have made at the deadline

#2: Justise Winslow

The second player that the Boston Celtics should have traded for was Justice Winslow.

Heading into the 2015 draft, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge almost ruined the eventual rebuild that would lead to Jalen Brown and Jayson Tatum to draft Winslow. Picking at 16th, the Celtics reportedly offered six draft picks, including four future first-rounders, to the Charlotte Hornets to move up to ninth to draft Winslow. Fortunately for Boston, the Hornets turned that deal down and drafted Frank Kaminsky instead.

It is uncertain exactly what the trade package the Celtics would have to put together to get Winslow would be. The last time he was traded, it was a part of a three-team trade.

In that deal, Winslow was sent to the Memphis Grizzlies along with Dion Waiters (who was bought out), and Gorgui Deng. In return, the Heat received Andre Igudola, Jae Crowder, and Solomon Hill.

It would be difficult to pin down exactly what it would take to add Winslow, however, it likely would not have been too difficult for the Celtics to pull off.

Winslow has had an extremely rough year on the offensive end. He is averaging 7.1 points per game on 34.2 percent shooting from the field, and 12.2 percent from three.

This is not the most promising aspect of his game, however, under a different system and a change of scenery it could be enough for Winslow to find himself again.
