. 16-28. Previous: 23rd. Washington Wizards. 25. team. 142

Last Week: Lost to Brooklyn Nets 113-106, Lost to New York Knicks 131-113, Lost to New York Knicks 106-102, Beat Detroit Pistons 106-92

This Week: 3/29 vs. Indiana Pacers, 3/30 vs. Charlotte Hornets, 4/1 at Detroit Pistons, 4/3 vs. Dallas Mavericks

The Washington Wizards made moves like they were on the fringe contending for something more meaningful than the back end of the play-in tournament. The team sent out Troy Brown Jr. and Mo Wagner for Daniel Gafford and Chandler Hutchison. Feelings on this trade basically how you feel about any of these prospects going forward.

The bigger issue is assessing what the Wizards think they really are. They have one of the best scorers in the league in Bradley Beal and a few interesting young prospects thirsting for their first playoff minutes. Scott Brooks seems to only be coaching out the string until he is let go at the end of the season for failing to meet expectations, much like Russell Westbrook and Davis Bertans have.

Unfortunately for the Wizards they are as close to the Pistons for last place in the Conference as they are to the play-in game. For a team this expensive being happy with being the 10 seed is simply illogical. Should they miss the postseason again the clock starts ticking on the front office. Even if Beal is not going to ask for a trade knowing that he can be a free agent next summer leaves just draft lottery luck as a way to make a case that any sort of winning is on the horizon.
