The Minnesota Timberwolves were inactive at the trade deadline, realizing the need to continue to build consistency over shaking up the roster at this point is the most important thing for the teams development. There has been enough turmoil with the team so far with the coaching change, suspension of Malik Beasley and the continued injury of D’Angelo Russell.

In the absence of their starting backcourt, Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns are continuing to build something. During the 12-game absence for Beasley, Towns is starting to look like an All-Star again, averaging 25.1 points, 9.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.2 blocks per game on shooting splits of .463/.388/.795. He is finally healthy and finally as his smile back as the Timberwolves are starting to win a few more games, slowly digging themselves out of the bottom of the standings.

Number one overall pick Anthony Edwards is not far behind. Since Beasley left the lineup Edwards is averaging 23.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.5 steals per game on shooting splits of .403/.312/.741. The efficiency clearly needs to continue to improve but there is noticeable progress since Chris Finch took over the coaching reigns. At this point, getting healthy is the only priority for the Timberwolves.
