Domantas Sabonis

Domantas Sabonis is the starriest name of the group but honestly choosing any of the Pacers “stars” to be the next to be traded is logical. Outside of Caris LeVert, the Pacers were reportedly fielding offers on their top three players heading into the deadline. New coach Nate Bjorkgren seems to be having trouble connecting to his players and with the news that TJ Warren will be out for the rest of the season things are unlikely to get better soon.

Sabonis is probably the best player among the three that includes Myles Turner and Malcolm Brogdon and therefore likely to yield the greatest return. Brogdon is the emotional leader of the team but finds his role comprised with the emergence of LeVert as a playmaker. Turner will perennially be available without a market for a major return.

Sabonis has made consecutive All-Star games and continues to get better. This season he is averaging 20.1 points (career-high), 11.2 rebounds, 6.2 assists (career-high) and 1.2 steals (career-high) per game.

He is miscast as the best player on a team but would be a valuable addition to any teams with a star already in place for him to play off of. Indiana has a chance to pivot into a rebuild around LeVert. They should take that chance.
