6 NBA Draft lottery prospects to play in the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet 16
NBA draft prospect No. 5: Moses Moody
A player that would be considered in the top-5 in most other years, Moses Moody has the opportunity to make a statement over the next couple of weeks.
Moody is a scorer and one of the best shooters in his class. He led the third-seeded Arkansas Razorbacks in scoring throughout the season by a long shot, despite his three-point numbers being uncharacteristically average. He had a solid run to end the season, scoring 28 points in three of the last six games. Moody tends to be streaky, however. During that six-game stretch, he also has a game in which he scored just 5 points in 39 minutes of play. This is somewhat typical, as it was his third 5 point game of the season to go along with a 6 point one.
Like some of the other players on our list, Moody has NBA Draft aspirations that could depend on the final results of the tournament. The more games that Arkansas plays, the more exposure and experience that the highly-touted prospect will have.
NBA draft prospect No. 6: Scottie Barnes
Another highly-touted wing prospect is Florida State’s Scottie Barnes.
One of the more interesting prospects to watch, Barnes’ place in the pre-draft rankings varies greatly from outlet to outlet. Depending on whom you ask, the 6’9″ freshman anywhere from a top-5 pick to a mid-to-late lottery selection. What we do know is that Barnes is a point forward who has a solid basketball IQ and the physical athleticism to boot. He can defend four and sometimes up to all five positions, which could become a part of his NBA reputation. Since guys like Cunningham, Mobley, and Suggs will all be some of the first ones off of the board, the team that is able to snag Barnes a few picks later could be finding a diamond in the…diamonds.
Florida State will face a big test against one-seeded Michigan in the Sweet 16., but it could become another chance for Scottie Barnes to boost his draft stock.
