NBA Top Shot is a rising new phenomenon; one replete with both opportunities and frustration. If you were around for the last drop on March 18th (and then 19th), you found yourself battling with hundreds of thousands of other users for a drop featuring Moments from the 2021 All-Star Game, but it wasn’t easy.

The drop was originally scheduled for 3PM EST, but technical issues pushed it back to 5PM EST on March 18th. Then the drop was entirely postponed until noon EST on March 19th due to what NBA Top Shot’s developers, Dapper Labs, described as “bot issues” they “worry would compromise the drop”.

When the drop actually took place on the 19th, it went off without a hitch thanks to their bot-countering precautionary steps. Collectors had a shot at 36,378 packs priced at $229, but over 200,000 users were in the queue, so chances were slim.

On Monday, March 22nd, users will get another shot at a pack of their own Moments when NBA Top Shot drops their third Cool Cats pack at 3PM EST. These packs price at $14 and will include five Moments, including one common Cool Cats Moment and four base set Moments.

Because this is a common drop, it doesn’t appear that there are any minimum requirements for owned Moments in order to participate in this drop.

This Cool Cats collection includes:

  • Dallas Mavericks center Kristaps Porziņģis hitting last-second 3-pointer in the first half of a win over the New Orleans Pelicans
  • Indiana Pacers two-time All-Star forward Domantas Sabonis with a block
  • New York Knicks wing RJ Barrett with a steal and a two-handed slam

There will be 15,000 Cool Cats Moments, and this will be the only opportunity ever to score one of these for your collection.
