Troy Brown, Jr.

For better or for worse, the Washington Wizards are locked into competing for the play-in game this season. They may not be able to consistently win games but they have a current All-Star, a former All-Star and huge financial commitments.

Given the need to keep pushing for wins, moving on from one of the young wings that is not getting time seems like the only likely move for the Washington Wizards. Troy Brown Jr. is the odd man out here. Last season he played 25.8 minutes and averaged 10.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game and looked on track to becoming a respectable 3-point shooter (34.1 percent).

This season, his role has diminished greatly with just 13.6 minutes per game. His efficiency is plummeting (effective field goal percentage going from 48.8 to 42.9), not earning himself any additional opportunities. With young prospects in Deni Avdija and Garrison Matthews outplaying him as well as Isaac Bonga and Jerome Robinson showing more promise, Brown’s days in D.C. seem to be numbered.
