JJ Redick

Possibly the easiest selection among all of the teams, JJ Redick has been noticeably available for months. It was reported earlier this season that JJ Redick had a desire to be sent to a playoff team in the northeast so he could continue his winning ways while being closer to his family. Lucky for him (and the New Orleans Pelicans) all of the teams in that region seem to be at least contending for a spot.

The Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, Brooklyn Nets and New York Knicks could all use the shooting touch Redick provides. Even in the current down year he is experiencing, he is shooting 36.4 percent beyond the perimeter. Shooting and playmaking are essential in the postseason and outside of last season he has been a key member of multiple playoff teams.

The best part of moving on from Redick for the Pelicans is that this is not conceding on competing for this season. Redick has been in and out of the lineup and offense is not the issue for the team. Getting on the same page defensively is the only thing that will solve what ails the Pelicans this season. Unless the return is expansive on that end of the court, the improvement will have to come from within.
