Wayne Ellington

Since the league was shut down last March to the present, Troy Weaver has moved on from every player on the roster save for one second-year prospect Sekou Doumbouya. While his lack of consistent minutes on the current Detroit Pistons team has led many to believe his days may be numbered, there is a much simpler answer here.

Wayne Ellington has been a solid veteran presence for the super young Pistons squad and a knockdown shooter so far (42.2 percent from distance on 6.4 attempts per game). He would be the kind of addition playoff teams are always looking for: solid shooting for the stretch run at the likely cost of a mere second-round pick.

Like the Rockets, the Pistons have no shortage of moveable players. Mason Plumlee has drawn interest from teams in need of center depth, as he is having the best year of his career statistically. Delon Wright was on fire prior to tweaking his ankle and has been solid since coming back. The Doumbouya jokes are not without merit.

Something is coming for Detroit. They swapped out Svi Mykhailiuk out for Hamidou Diallo just over a week ago. Weaver is not afraid to shake things up and knows the kind of players he trusts. It should come as no surprise if he continues to make moves.
