Victor Oladipo

For a team that seems to have forgotten how to win on the court, the Houston Rockets should do their best to be active on the trade market. Before shipping P.J. Tucker to the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday, he would have been today’s answer. Lucky for the Rockets, they ae not short on tradable players.

Victor Oladipo is the most interesting potential trade piece. Brought to Houston in the James Harden trade, things have never quite clicked for the former All-Star with the Rockets. He has played in 28 total games this season, 19 of which came with the Rockets. Heading into free agency this summer it is logical for Houston to see if they can get anything for him before losing him for nothing.

The teams to watch here are the Dallas Mavericks, Miami Heat and New York Knicks. While others may come out to surprise you, those three make the most sense at this point. Dallas and Miami are playoff threats that could try to recapture some of his All-Star form without the pressure of being a number one option. New York needs another scorer on an already elite defensive team. Even if the deal only nets the Rockets a single draft pick it would be worthwhile to add to their growing trove of draft capital.
