Trade No. 9: Larry Nance Jr. to the Philadelphia 76ers

As per the latest reports, the Cleveland Cavaliers are receiving a ton of interest for the services of Larry Nance Jr. from other teams. After the season he’s been having, can you really blame these teams?

Nance has been slowly but steadily improving over the past few seasons and has now reached new levels. His 3-point shot is better than ever and his defensive prowess is sought after by many players around the league.

Regardless of how improved he’s been this season, rebuilding teams have very little use for a player like Nance. He can, however, shine on a contender that needs a spark of energy on the defensive end.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a little thin on the backup power forward spot and Nance could be their ticket to the NBA Finals for the first time since Allen Iverson’s 2001 Philly squad. He is a player that required minimum shot attempts to positively influence the game, making him perfect for a star-packed team like the Sixers.

It is, however, unknown whether he wishes to pursue a move away from Cleveland or not. Regardless of that, the trade business sometimes forces players to move away from the place they’ve gotten used to calling “home”.

Nance is a hustle guy that would be best used on a team that is primed to make a deep playoff run. The energy he brings on the court as well as the near league-high 1.8 steals per game would make him an invaluable asset on this year’s Philly team.
