Should the Charlotte Hornets take a swing for Andre Drummond?

Dating back to the days of building around Kemba Walker, the Charlotte Hornets have been linked to Andre Drummond. The former All-Star is one of the bigger question marks on the trade market with many assuming he will eventually be bought out. However, Cleveland is adamant they want some asset of any kind instead.

Charlotte could use an upgrade down low over Cody Zeller so figuring out a trade package makes sense. It would likely take the expiring trio of Zeller, Bismack Biyombo and Malik Monk to make the salaries work. Monk would be an interesting flier for the Cavaliers. He is having a solid season for the Hornets, shooting a blistering 43.2 percent on 5.5 3-point attempts per game. Charlotte could add in one of their two second-round picks this year to sweeten the deal.

Drummond would undoubtedly help a team that is currently 12th in rebounds. He averages more rebounds per game (13.5) than Biyombo and Zeller combined (13.0). While his defense is often maligned, he also brings more on that end than the aforementioned duo. Drummond catching lobs from Ball would lead to plenty of fun highlights for the team. This is certainly worth considering, especially because Charlotte will have the cap space to resign him in the offseason.
