. 16-22. Previous: 24th. New Orleans Pelicans. 23. team. 69

Last Week: Lost to Minnesota Timberwolves 135-105, Beat Cleveland Cavaliers 116-82

This Week: 3/14 vs. LA Clippers, 3/16 at Portland Trail Blazers, 3/18 at Portland Trail Blazers

Question: Will the New Orleans Pelicans fully commit to Point Zion?

There is a noticeable difference for the New Orleans Pelicans when they run the offense through Zion Williamson. This has been the trend over the last three weeks, with Stan Van Gundy putting the keys in Williamson’s hands and letting him go to work.

The New Orleans Pelicans are a top-10 offense and are borderline unstoppable when Williamson leads the charge. He is fourth among number one options across the league in true shooting percentage (65.0), trailing only Zach LaVine, Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic.

Committing to Williamson as the definitive number one leaves the roster in a weird place. Brandon Ingram seems to be okay with it but his fit as a secondary scorer, with how ball-dominant he tends to be, appears tenuous. Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe simply do not fit.

The future is bright in New Orleans because of Zion. They have a coach and general manager who want to put him in the best position to succeed. With a treasure trove of draft picks in the pipeline, this will come with time. Lonzo Ball and Josh Hart already play impeccably with Williamson. The rest just need to fit.
