By Corey Rausch

Question: Is there more to the Kevin Durant injury than is being made public?
What started off as a generic hamstring injury has now led to multiple MRIs and Kevin Durant not suiting up for the Brooklyn Nets since Feb. 13. The Brooklyn Nets have not missed a beat, boasting the best record over that time period at 10-1 and have surged to within half a game of the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Nets are scoring the third most points per game over that time period, led by James Harden and Kyrie Irving. Over that time period, Harden is averaging 28.2 points (sixth in the league), 10.6 assists (second) 9.7 rebounds (17th) and 1.4 steals per game. Irving is not far behind at 26.8 points, 5.9 assists, 5.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.
Perhaps this extended delay is just out of an abundance of caution that the Nets can afford due to their current dominance. New addition Blake Griffin is also currently out of the lineup for the coming weeks after being signed away from the Detroit Pistons. It is just something of a concern for a player coming off an Achilles injury. Only time will tell if this is much ado about nothing.
