25-14. Previous: 8th. Los Angeles Clippers. 7. team. 77.

Last Week: Beat Golden State Warriors 130-104

This Week: 3/14 at New Orleans Pelicans, 3/15 at Dallas Mavericks, 3/17 at Dallas Mavericks, 3/20 vs. Charlotte Hornets

Question: Will the LA Clippers ever have a real playmaker for others on the roster?

As the season rolls along, the likelihood of the LA Clippers adding additional playmaking in any meaningful way feels increasingly unlikely. The team is hard capped and their projected future of their first-round draft selections are spoken for at this time. Unless a guard of some repute gets bought out (George Hill perhaps?) the Clippers may have to rely on the players on hand to develop further.

The options are pretty slim in that regard as well. Patrick Beverley is primarily focused on the other end of the ball. Lou Williams is focused on getting Lou Williams some points. Reggie Jackson and focus are not two things I would like to connect with any optimism for this postseason run.

The burden may fall on Luke Kennard, the best pure playmaker on the roster when he is able to get one the court. That last phrase is the operative one, as the young guard has only played 19.9 minutes per game so far this season and has struggled to get into any meaningful rhythm. Kennard is averaging his worst assist numbers (1.7 per game) since his rookie season in Detroit.  He has shown the ability in seasons past to run the offense. He just needs to be handed the keys.
