Previous: 9th. Dallas Mavericks. 10. team. 79. . 20-17

Last Week: Beat San Antonio Spurs 115-104, Lost to Oklahoma City Thunder 116-108, Beat Denver Nuggets 116-103

This Week: 3/15 vs. LA Clippers, 3/17 vs. LA Clippers, 3/19 at Portland Trail Blazers

Question: Does the move to bolster the roster come in two weeks or during the offseason?

After some early seasons struggles the Dallas Mavericks are back above .500 and no longer seem in danger of missing the playoffs. A full 4.5 games ahead of the 11th seed, at a minimum the play-in feels like the most likely reality. They have won seven of their last 10 games and are figuring things out.

Given that the team is finally starting to work well together, does a move now make sense or should they ride it out? The answer is somewhat complicated. Consistency has been an issue for plenty of Mavericks (looking at you Kristaps Porzingis) so getting on the same page is key. Josh Richardson, for example, is finally starting to look comfortable and realizing the defensive potential that has been missing from his game for the last two seasons.

However, if the right move presents itself the Mavericks should pounce. Luka Doncic gives them a shot in any game so capitalizing on every year he is on the team is essential. Windows for teams are typically tough to see until they are missed so realizing the potential of a 22-year old All-NBA level player should be done at every turn.
