. 19-19. Previous: 12th. Golden State Warriors. 14. team. 41

Last Week: Lost to LA Clippers 130-104

This Week: 3/14 vs. Utah Jazz, 3/15 vs. Los Angeles Lakers, 3/17 at Houston Rockets, 3/19 at Memphis Grizzlies, 3/20 at Memphis Grizzlies

Question: Who will continue to make the impression necessary to be brought back for next season, when Klay Thompson is back?

The Golden State Warriors are fun this season but that may be it at this point. They are an elite defensive team (currently ranked eighth in the league). However, boasting the 22nd ranked offense in the league when Stephen Curry is on the team is almost criminal.

Draymond Green and Curry are exempt from this conversation. Their standing in the organization is unassailable. Kelly Oubre Jr.’s pending free agency mixed with the current cap situation for the Warriors made him returning next season unlikely from the start. His play this year will likely not leave the Warriors worried about that.

James Wiseman and Andrew Wiggins are the main auditions at this point being reviewed. Both have played mostly fine but are also nothing to completely write home about. Should the appropriate trade pop up, such as for a star to pair with the rest of the group, Golden State should consider making a deal.

That being said, Wiseman has dealt with injuries and immaturity (missing COVID-19 tests) but has also flashed brilliant potential along the way. Wiggins is having the most efficient season of his career and looks competent on the defensive end of the court at long last. Unless there is the right trade both players should stay.
