Delon Wright and Wayne Ellington to contenders?

Not that Delon Wright and Wayne Ellington are necessarily a package deal, but perhaps they could be if the right deal comes along. Each part of this duo has reportedly drawn interest from a number of contenders around the NBA, including the Philadelphia 76ers.

Wright shook off a slow start to the season and turned into one of the more reliable scorers and creators for the Pistons over the past month or so after Killian Hayes went down. That’s almost as much an indictment on the Pistons’ scoring and offensive creators as it is a credit to him, but he deserves his plaudits for holding down the fort at point guard and the league’s best teams have taken note.

As for Ellington, he has ranged from “pretty good” to “laser beam from outer space” in his 3-point shooting this season, and that could do a team like the Sixers plenty of good. In spite of the fact that they’re now run by Daryl Morey as president of basketball operations, they’re one of the NBA’s most infrequent 3-point shooting teams and a flamethrower like Ellington would benefit them.

If there’s a deal to be made for draft assets, the Pistons should move both of them.
