If any season throughout history could win a hypothetical crown for the most-needed All-Star break, the 2020-21 campaign would take the crown every time.

Everyone within every organization is fried on multiple levels. Players had varying lengths of offseason to rest up after the draining bubble experience. COVID-19 impacts just about every aspect of day-to-day operations from multiple daily tests to limited hotel interactions to masking up on the bench.

As the NBA’s 2020-21 season tips off its second half, these five storylines, in particular, are worth watching above the others.

This season has been a lot for everyone within the league to deal with. But it’s not over yet. Come Wednesday, the NBA will kick back right where it left off, hoping to finish its season with minimal covid-related interruptions and crown a second champion in over a year’s worth of these unprecedented times.

In a league where storylines and narratives reign supreme, the second half of the season also signals the opportunity for many of those plot points to be resolved. In what fashion is anyone’s guess, but these five are the ones you want to keep the closest eye on for theatrical and impactful reasons alike.
