As a now two-time All-Star, Nikola Vucevic of the Orlando Magic has finally gotten some of the recognition that he rightly deserves. It wasn’t always the case, and he has come a long way from having to battle with Bismack Biyombo for minutes, but at 30 years old he is rightly known as the man for the Magic these days.

With this has come an increase in trade rumors. Not surprising given that Vucevic has gone from a guy who put up what were perceived as empty stats, to somebody who is capable of having an offense built around him that can get you to the playoffs. All that had to happen for this to be the case was an improvement in the players who are around him.

Now that Vucevic has gotten some help, and then lost it again as a result of badly timed injuries, his perception change is complete. He is a modern center who is in his prime, is under contract for the next two seasons after this one, and who is not making crazy money. When you factor all of this together you come to an obvious conclusion.

It is time for the Orlando Magic to trade Nikola Vucevic

If you disagree with this statement then don’t worry, we’ve already examined the reasons not to move on from the Montenegrin. The argument not to do this is as strong as the one we’re about to put forward, which makes it a tough decision to make no matter what way it ends up unfolding.

One thing we can all agree on, however, is that no matter what Vucevic is now most certainly a Magic legend. A guy who has never complained about his situation, and has instead focused on quietly getting better. He has done all of that and more, which is why we have now reached the point where it makes sense to trade him. Here is why.
