3. Fred VanVleet

Fred VanVleet could have made the All-Star Game this season. He has been the best Toronto Raptor comfortable this season and is slowly but surely inheriting the mantle from Kyle Lowy of the heart of the franchise. He plays such a gritty brand of basketball while being able to light you up on a given night that is beyond exciting.

VanVleet is sixth in the league in steals at this point, averaging 1.7 per game. He is averaging a career-high 20.1 points per game and shooting 38.3 percent on 8.8 attempts per game. As the Raptors begin moving on to building around the future of their organization VanVleet will be the pillar they are built upon. They committed the max contract to him this offseason, confirming just how important he is to the team’s future.

The Raptors got off to a slow start this season, preventing any of their players from earning true All-Star consideration. VanVleet had his All-Star moment earlier this season, when he dropped 54 points, three rebounds, three steals, three blocks and two assists on the Orlando Magic on February 2, 2021. That is the most points scored by an undrafted player in history. He is already a star in the North.
