The Phoenix Suns have won eight of their last 10 games and enter the break with the second-best record in the conference, ahead of both squads from Los Angeles. The leap was expected for a team adding Chris Paul but the quickness with which they have turned into a dominant force is astounding.

There are two teams in the top-10 in offensive and defensive rating. The Utah Jazz have been the hottest team in the league during the first half, ranking fourth in each category. The Suns are right on their tails, boasting the eight-rated offense and the third-ranked defense.

Devin Booker’s stats are down slightly (24.9 points, 4.4 assists, 3.6 rebounds per game) but his efficiency is improving (55.1 effective field goal percentage). The pace of the team (29th in the league) also has something to do with the dip in production. He takes advantage of the opportunities given to him and the Subs are dominating the competition.

Chris Paul is a major factor in the change of pace and overall improvement of the team. The Suns carry themselves with a determination and poise that belies the experience level of most of their roster. They have turned the corner and will only get better with time. If only Devin Booker did not tweak his knee just before the All-Star break.
