Just when the seat was starting to get scorching hot for Brad Stevens and Danny Ainge, the Boston Celtics railed off four wins in a row and seem to have restored some balance for the time being. Now the fans have stopped calling for firings and instead started calling for trades.
Of course, they only list the gaudiest names possible, currently listing Jerami Grant and Nikola Vucevic. As useful as the trade exception they have in the clip is, they would still have to offer something of real value to get a player of that caliber. The fans should move on to something more realistic.
Figuring out who to add is not as easy as it should be. The roster does not need much but stability to get back on track. Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum were deserved All-Stars this season. Marcus Smart is the heart and soul of this team and will be back from injury soon. Incremental moves should be enough to right the ship entirely. More defensive wings should be the main target. The Boston Celtics are nowhere near their potential right now, but a little injury luck breaking the other way could be all they need.
