29. . 18-14. Previous: 13th. San Antonio Spurs. 18. team

Last Week: Lost/OT to Brooklyn Nets 124-113, Beat New York Knicks 119-93, Lost to Oklahoma City Thunder 107-102

This Week: 3/10 at Dallas Mavericks, 3/12 vs. Orlando Magic

The San Antonio Spurs have been surprisingly competitive given the relative anonymity of their roster to the outside world. The balanced attack is something unlike any other team in the league. Eight different San Antonio Spurs are averaging double digits in scoring this season.

DeMar DeRozan is leading the way at a solid 20.0 points and has added 7.2 assists per game. He is leading this team in a way that he has never had to before and because of that has turned into a reasonable trade target as an expiring contract. He is not the only one. LaMarcus Aldridge, Rudy Gay, Trey Lyles and Patty Mills are all pending free agent veterans who could provide something to a contender.

The Spurs could choose to continue to compete for the postseason if the right offer does not come along. Dejounte Murray, Derrick White, Lonnie Walker IV and Keldon Johnson are the future of this team and deserve to see if they can continue doing what they are doing on a bigger stage. Allowing Devin Vassell to guard some of the best players in the league would provide a similar experience. The Spurs never truly do go away do they?
