Trade No. 3: Kristaps Porzingis to the Golden State Warriors

Yet another crazy rumor that has been circling the news, is the one of Kristaps Porzingis being moved out of the Dallas Mavericks and more specifically all the way to San Francisco and the Golden State Warriors.

It seems like the Warriors have gotten so used to winning, that they can’t bear a couple of seasons of mediocrity. As a result, they are actively trying to get their hands on stars that could help them increase their chances right now.

Kristaps Porzingis was moved to Dallas in 2019, in hopes of creating a dynamic European duo with Luka that could hopefully emulate the success Dirk Nowitzki had during his time there. Two years later, we can safely say that this has not been the case.

Setting Luka’s MVP-caliber seasons so far, Porzingis has not looked all that promising. He has been missing too many games and is not a reliable second scoring option. Doncic definitely has the talent to win now and the Mavericks might want to surround him with the adequate pieces now, rather than languish a potential special bond between the two.

The Golden State Warriors would be a great fit for Kristaps, given his ability to stretch the floor, an aspect that was never found in other Golden State big men.
