1. The Pistons just need to win

The biggest piece of the All-Star puzzle for Jerami Grant is simple. His team just needs to win. Of course, the simple part is also the hardest.

The Detroit Pistons have been a middling squad at best since the minute Joe Dumars sent Chauncey Billups to the Denver Nuggets. Over the past decade-plus, the organization has strived to win and failed miserably. There are plenty of reasons for this, of course, and it appears the Pistons have begun taking the appropriate steps to correct course and do so in the proper fashion.

However, if the Pistons do end up putting together a winning record next season, it’ll likely be as a result of faster-than-expected development from their young core, some hits in free agency and Jerami Grant’s own fantastic play.

NBA coaches love the way he plays. His defense is outstanding whether his shot is falling or not. Even when he’s struggling from the floor, he never hurts his team. Jerami Grant, as the lead actor on a winning Pistons squad, would be hard for coaches to overlook even if he didn’t get the fan vote on his side.
