. 15-17. Previous: 14th. Charlotte Hornets. 15. team. 170

Last Week: Lost to Utah Jazz 132-110, Beat Phoenix Suns 124-121, Lost Golden State Warriors 130-121

This Week: 2/28 at Sacramento Kings, 3/1 at Portland Trail Blazers, 3/3 at Minnesota Timberwolves

The rollercoaster ride continues for the Charlotte Hornets as they embarked on a brutal six-game Western Conference road trip. After one week, coming away with one win bodes well for the rest of the trip.

Losing to the Utah Jazz is to be expected, especially on a night where the only thing scary about Terry Rozier was his shot chart. Malik Monk came off the bench for 20 points but the inefficient nights of Rozier and LaMelo Ball were enough to keep the Hornets out of the win column against the best team in the league. Bouncing back to beat the red-hot Phoenix Suns had to feel great.

Monk continued his hot streak, dropping 29 points on 21 shots, and is having the best half-season of his career. LaMelo Ball took over down the stretch, earning the Hornets a much-needed win. Then came the rematch with a Golden State Warriors team that the Hornets had previously upset.

Ball, Rozier and Monk were all on the same page this time and it was Gordon Hayward missing a step that exposed the Hornets. The week ahead should present a chance for them to finish out the remainder of the front half of the schedule with an even split on this road trip.
