NBA Week 10 Power Rankings: All-Star Snub Edition
By Corey Rausch
Last Week: Lost/OT New Orleans Pelicans 120-115, Lost to Dallas Mavericks 110-107, Lost to Atlanta Hawks 127-112, Beat Indiana Pacers 118-112
This Week: 2/28 vs. Washington Wizards, 3/2 vs. LA Clippers, 3/4 vs. Toronto Raptors
Of course it took a 32-point performance from the much-maligned Kemba Walker to end the losing streak and finish the week on a positive note for the Boston Celtics. The week was rough overall and has left Celtics fans looking for answers in every place they can think of.
Blowing a 25-point second-half lead against the New Orleans Pelicans leaves a sour taste in one’s mouth and led to fans questioning the coaching of Brad Stevens and the roster construction of Danny Ainge. Tatum for his part had a really rough week, shooting just 32.9 percent from the field and 27.6 percent from distance. He hit some enormous shots against the Pelicans to force overtime which covers up some of the issues, but they are real.
Tatum has been open about his struggles coming back from COVID-19 and sometimes it is more obvious than others. Tatum was announced as an All-Star this week and subsequently moved into the starting lineup with Kevin Durant out with injury. It came on an auspicious day, with Tatum going 4-of-18 from the field. At least this under .500 team has two All-Stars. Now comes the wait for them to add something meaningful with the trade exception.
