The Chicago Bulls have a legitimate shot at making the playoffs

The Chicago Bulls currently have the eighth-best record in the Eastern Conference. If the regular season ended today, they would be one of four teams playing in a tournament to determine the final two seeds of the playoffs. Fans in the Windy City are ecstatic that the team has a shot at postseason play for the first time since 2017.

As a veteran who put up great individual numbers but never enjoyed great team success, DeMarcus Cousins should be attracted to an organization that can offer him a chance to compete in the playoffs. Chicago’s young core of Zach LaVine, Lauri Markkanen, Coby White and Wendel Carter appear to be growing wiser by the day. After losing the first three games of the season, head coach Billy Donovan has restored confidence in his team that they can be competitive night in and night out, no matter who their opponent is.

In the lone playoff experience of his career, DeMarcus Cousins showed flashes of brilliance for the Golden State Warriors. During the 2019 NBA Finals, he came up big during each of the team’s wins. Although the Warrior would eventually lose the series in six games, Cousins’ performance showed that he’s not afraid of the big stage. If he signs with the Bulls, the team has an even better chance at making the playoffs than they do now. If that happens, Cousins’ performance certainly won’t be a disappointment.
