Trade candidate No. 8: Kevin Knox
On the topic of situations that are clearly not working out, let me introduce you to a fella named Kevin Knox.
Originally selected by the New York Knicks with the 8th pick in the 2018 NBA Draft, Knox had an okay rookie campaign, numbers-wise. His shooting numbers were atrocious, but then again, that seems to be the case with many rookies.
The thing is, not only did Knox fail to improve after shaking off his rookie woes, but he somehow found a way to sink to lower levels. Not to overexaggerate things, but those critics that say Knox is a bad player couldn’t be more wrong. He is, in fact, a really bad one.
Now under a new coach in Tom Thibodeau, who specializes in youth development, Knox has once again failed to show that he was worthy of that eighth pick. After a mediocre start to the season, Thibodeau has now placed him outside the usual nine-man rotation.
It is obvious to the naked eye that Kevin Knox needs a change of scenery. For the first time in what seems like ages, the Knicks are competing for a playoff spot. As a result, their patience with Knox is running thin. Perhaps a bottom-tier team can present him with the chances he needs.
