Trade candidate No. 1: Bradley Beal

If Zach LaVine is “too good for his own team”, then Bradley Beal needs an entirely new uninvented phrase that accurately depicts his situation.

Beal is leading the league in scoring this season, at 32.7 points per game, and for the first time in his career, it hasn’t gone unnoticed. Beal will be starting in the upcoming All-Star Game for the first time in his career, after a couple of seasons as a reserve.

Still, the situation with the Washington Wizards is far from ideal. Despite their decent run as of late, they are still occupying that 13th seed in the Eastern Conference. With so many teams confident of making a playoff run, time is running out for the Wizards.

The John Wall-Bradley Beal era in Washington officially ended when the Wizards decided to trade away Wall in exchange for Russell Westbrook. Could Beal be the next one out? He is drawing even more interest than Harden and the Wizards could be enticed into accepting a proposal thrown their way.

Beal is one of the finest scorers in today’s basketball and many teams might actively pursue him, were the Wizards to announce his availability. As we get closer to the NBA trade deadline and the playoff picture shapes up more precisely, missing out on a postseason run might force them to sell high on Beal.
