Valentine’s Day messages for the Minnesota Timberwolves

Valentine’s Day message for Anthony Edwards
Like that kid with the leather jacket
You were the one our parents warned us about
But after just a few months,
You’re the one for us, without a doubt.
A lot of questions were raised when the Minnesota Timberwolves selected Anthony Edwards out of Georgia first overall in the most recent NBA Draft. The media was quick, as they often are, to jump on Edwards and his apparent attitude problem. If you thought that was a shot at the media, it wasn’t. They were right to bring up those concerns as, much like that high school kid who still wears a leather jacket, nine times out of 10 people like that end up hurting you.
It just so happened that Edwards was the tenth time. When the reason that kid is wearing a leather jacket is just that he’s cold and insecure about his body, all he needs is a good environment to really thrive in.
Since coming to Minnesota, there are a few questions that could be raised about Anthony Edwards and his game, but commitment or work ethic isn’t either of them. By now, Edwards has shaken off any comparison to a former number draft pick for the Wolves who didn’t work out in Andrew Wiggins. With averages of 14.2 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game, Edwards has placed himself firmly in the Rookie of the Year conversation, and he’s proven himself to be just as valuable a commodity as his potential suggested on draft night.
