There is no reason for Milwaukee Bucks fans to panic after their team’s recent two-game skid. The disposition of sports fans often changes rapidly. Even teams with a recent history of success are subject to scrutiny after a lackluster performance. The higher the expectations, the more intense the scrutiny.

After losing the last two games, it would be easy for Bucks fans to hit the panic button and wonder if there is something wrong with their team. After all, this is a team that had the best regular-season record in the league each of the past two seasons. Management has not been shy about stating they are in win-now mode. Isn’t a two-game losing streak cause for concern?

The short answer is no. The NBA has a reduced schedule this year, but 72 games still offer plenty of basketball. Although the goal is to win each and every time you step on the court, the NBA season is a marathon, not a sprint. It is important for fans and teams alike to keep this in mind, especially those with championship aspirations.

The Milwaukee Bucks recently lost back to back games to the Phoenix Sun and Utah Jazz. There is no need to worry. They are still a championship contender.

Once upon a time, there was a team that tried to win every regular-season game at all cost. They went 73-9 in the regular season and then blew a 3-1 lead in the Finals. The 2016 Golden State Warriors should serve as a cautionary tale to players, coaches and fans alike. Winning is essential, but never losing sight of the big picture is equally as important.

Bucks fans should not allow the team’s two-game losing streak to reduce their faith in the team. Here’s why.
