Verdict

Alright, so we’re not there yet, but you have to admit it’s getting closer isn’t it? Team Europe would beat anybody else in the world, except Team USA. In fact, if they played each other 10 times, I’m going to put my neck out there and say Team Europe would win twice, maybe three times max.

When you consider the talent that Team USA has and will always have, it is amazing that Europe has caught up so much and made it a contest at all. America is supposed to win every international tournament they win, and they usually do. But that European way of playing has translated into some really skilled bigs making it across the Atlantic and getting paid big money.

Taking the five matchups individually, Doncic vs Leonard might be the hardest to call, both in a vacuum and taking into account who both players are at this moment. Giannis vs LeBron would be interesting as well, but as we’ve said when the game is on the line, you’d be a fool to bet against LeBron.

Harden is a straight walkover, Davis vs Gobert isn’t much better and Durant just looks too good for Jokic even after the injuries that he has sustained. You could kindly call it 3-2 to Team USA in matchups, the reality is it’s closer to 4-1, but what an exciting game it would be. Just wait until Team Africa gets a team together after continued development of the game in that region.
