More often than not, the phrase New York Knicks is placed right around any trade talk in the NBA. Being a big market team always ready to make moves, the management never fails to impress its fans.

The Knicks are doing exceptionally well to start off the season. They boast a record of 11-14, which places them just outside the Eastern Conference playoffs, though they have been in-and-out for a few weeks now.

To take things into perspective, last season’s opening 25 games were a bit worse. They only managed to win five of those, including a lengthy 10-game losing streak. But luckily for like in New York, Tom Thibodeau came to town.

The 2020-21 New York Knicks are on the board. They pulled off their first trade of the season, in which they picked up former MVP Derrick Rose for his second stint on the team in five years, in exchange for Dennis Smith Jr. and draft compensation.

Based on past experience, something tells us that Leon Rose is not even halfway done. All this trade talk that preceded this move ultimately led to its completion. The question is, will the same happen with any of the other potential trade targets?

The New York Knicks should try to put off any trade talks for certain players that the media is linking them with recently.

Many names have recently been thrown into the mix. You got experienced veterans like Victor Oladipo, as well as younger players that fit the team’s scheme a bit better, like the talented Lonzo Ball. Then again, some pretty bad names have entered the chat.

Basically, there are two schools of thought. The Knicks should look to avoid targeting any players that would require an enormous trade package to bring to NY. Additionally, they should limit themselves to one veteran, aka D-Rose, and not mess up with the team’s vibrant energy.

Here are a few players that appear unsettled, thus making them easier trade candidates. At the end of the day, easy does not always mean good.
