NBA Power Rankings Week 6: Are the Los Angeles Lakers on top?
By Corey Rausch
Last Week: Beat Cleveland Cavaliers 141-103, Beat Chicago Bulls 119-103, Lost to San Antonio Spurs 110-106, Lost to Los Angeles Lakers 96-95
This Week: 2/2 at Golden State Warriors, 2/3 at Sacramento Kings, 2/5 at LA Clippers
The Boston Celtics are getting their lineup back together. And just when everything started to look right, again Marcus Smart fell to the floor against the Los Angeles Lakers and needed to be helped off the court. While Smart is not the best player on this team by any stretch, he is one of the emotional barometers for a team in need of leadership amongst adversity.
Jaylen Brown continues to step up in every way and had another remarkable week. Over the four games, he averaged 27.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game with otherworldly shooting splits of .557.588/722. He is continuing to thrive in his role as the number one option as Jayson Tatum is returning to the lineup and is showing that the team was right to hold onto him rather than take a swing on a James Harden.
The Celtics are still incomplete and will be until they are all on the floor together if that should ever happen this year. As great as Brown has been this season, the Celtics are just not one of the top teams so pay attention to how they tinker around the margins to solidify their chances at making another run to the top.
