Trade target No. 3: Lonzo Ball

Many New York Knicks fans were praying for his brother, LaMelo Ball to end up in New York during the 2020 NBA Draft, though it might be time to go after another member of this family that shares similarly excellent basketball genes.

A few years ago, Lonzo Ball  was perceived as one of the most hyped draft prospects. Fast forward a few seasons into his career and one can clearly see that he has not fulfilled his maximum potential. And maybe, just maybe, that is what the New York Knicks need right now.

Leon Rose has created a roster filled with players that are trying to live up to their pre-draft hype. Julius Randle, Dennis Smith Jr., Nerlens Noel and Austin Rivers are all trying to prove that they are not just a number in the system.

Lonzo has always found himself in non-progressive situations. Whether it was Lebron James, or Zion Williamson and Brandon Ingram, there have always been ball-dominant players that have prevented him from taking the next step we all know he can.

The new Orleans Pelicans had pretty big aspirations for this season. A quarter of the season has already passed and the Pelicans find themselves second-to-last in the Western Conference standings.

If David Griffin chooses to pull the trigger on any significant trades–and he most likely will–one can safely assume that Lonzo Ball would be the scapegoat. For a team that hasn’t had a quality point guard in a while, like the New York Knicks, Lonzo would be the perfect treat.
