NBA Power Rankings Week 5: How good are the Utah Jazz?
By Corey Rausch
Last Week: Lost to New York Knicks 105-75, Lost to Philadelphia 76ers 117-109, Lost to Philadelphia 76ers 122-110
This Week: 1/24 vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, 1/25 at Chicago Bulls, 1/27 at San Antonio Spurs, 1/30 vs. Los Angeles Lakers
After being one of the hottest teams in the league, the Boston Celtics dropped three in a row this week. Jayson Tatum missed all three games and Kemba Walker is still limited in minutes so some of this is to be expected, specifically the two losses to the Philadelphia 76ers.
Getting your head caved in by 30 against the New York Knicks is a different story. As vaunted as the Knicks defense is, 75 points is a rather embarrassing outing. In all honesty, the only Celtics who was consistently good this week, as he has been most of the year, is Jaylen Brown. The soon-to-be-named All-Star averaged 31.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 assists a game on shooting splits of .486/.407/.667. He has been a force on both sides of the court and is doing everything he can to keep the team afloat.
In all fairness, the team is struggling with health and is slowly getting players back. Robert Williams III is an essential player off the bench for them and only returned on Friday. With only a struggling Daniel Theis and a worse Tristan Thompson around to go against Joel Embiid, losses were inevitable. Getting Tatum is healthy is the only thing that matters at the present moment.
