NBA Power Rankings Week 5: How good are the Utah Jazz?
By Corey Rausch
Last Week: Beat Dallas Mavericks 117-101, Beat 125-120 Houston Rockets, Beat Charlotte Hornets 123-110, Lost to Los Angeles Lakers 101-90
This Week: 1/25 vs. Boston Celtics, 1/27 at Memphis Grizzlies, 1/30 vs. Portland Trail Blazers
The Chicago Bulls were having a great week until they got on the court with the Los Angeles Lakers. The Bulls only scored 33 points in the first half and were trailing by 30 at the break. The fact that they got it to an 11 point game by the end is a moral victory for a team that also nabbed three real wins this week.
Zach LaVine has entered the MVP conversations and is continuing the efficient scoring rampage that had him nearly named to the All-Star game a season ago. Four out of his last five games have seen him go over 20 points and he is killing unsuspecting defenses.
As more members of the team are finally getting back on the court after lengthy health and safety absences, the Bulls are finally starting to get some wins. The roster is still a strange fit but for the time being things are starting to click.
Lauri Markkanen is playing well and looking like the player that had NBA Twitter excited a couple of years ago. Patrick Williams is looking like a solid fourth overall pick and could end up being the best player on this roster if he continues along this trajectory. For the first time in a few years, things are starting to look up in Chicago.
