Houston Rockets. 22. team. 169. . 6-9. Previous: 18th

Last Week: Lost to Chicago Bulls 125-120, Lost to Phoenix Suns 109-103, Beat Detroit Pistons 103-102, Beat Dallas Mavericks 133-108

This Week: 1/26 vs. Washington Wizards, 1/28 vs. Portland Trail Blazers, 1/30 at New Orleans Pelicans

Slowly but surely the Houston Rockets are finding ways to win basketball games. Christian Wood and Victor Oladipo missed the win over the Dallas Mavericks and John Wall missed the win against the Detroit Pistons. The contributions they are getting across the roster is the biggest reason to start to feel positive.

As an unabashed fan of DeMarcus Cousins, Saturday night felt good. Cousins had his best game since he played alongside Anthony Davis, putting up a line of 28 points, 17 rebounds and five assists. Eric Gordon added 33 points and the shorthanded Dallas Mavericks could not do anything to stop the explosive offense.

Getting everyone on the court at the same time has been an issue so far this season for the Rockets but that should not come as any surprise. Oladipo, Wall and Cousins all have a long track record of inconsistent health that is only further complicated by the compressed schedule this season. Wood and Danuel House being in and out of the lineup complicates things further.

Should that finally change (or at least regress to the mean) the Houston Rockets are showing that they can and will blitz teams with their multi-faceted offense. For the first time this season, rookie head coach Stephen Silas finally appears to have the kind of team that fits his style.
