Milwaukee Bucks: When will Torrey Craig be unleashed?
How long will it take for Torrey Craig to get consistent minutes?
There seems to be no time table for when Mike Budenholzer will insert Torrey Craig into the rotation, but hopefully, it’s sooner rather than later. According to Eric Nehm of The Athletic, when asked about what has kept Craig out of the rotation, Bud explained:
"“Guys are playing well and we’ve kind of tightened up the rotation a tiny bit, so it’s a combination of some guys playing well, tightening it up. I think we’re trying to get Giannis, Khris, these guys ways to get their conditioning, get their shape without the ramp up, without all the five-on-five that normally happens in a regular offseason. So, we’re some nights playing nine, nine and a half, so that’s made it a little bit harder and those guys have played well, we’ve played well. But hopefully, we can find an opportunity to start incorporating him and we know he’s going to be helpful and be important to us during the season.”"
For now, Torrey Craig is stuck in the dog house. As time goes by, it’ll be essential to give him opportunities alongside the starters to prepare him for gaining minutes once the playoffs come around.
Craig is coming off a postseason where he averaged 19.7 minutes per game. He’s been a valuable contributor in the past when it has mattered most, and he should become an important piece to the Bucks as they aim to get over the hump and chase an NBA championship.
As the season progresses, look for Torrey Craig to become a consistent part of the Milwaukee Bucks’ regular rotation.
