What’s in it for the Houston Rockets?

As mentioned before, a player like P.J. Tucker does not fit the schematic of the upcoming Rockets rebuild. Yes, he may be a great veteran to have, but his trade value exceeds his locker room skills. At the end of the day, he is not a Udonis Haslem just yet.

So why pick the Los Angeles Lakers as receivers in this hypothetical trade scenario? Well for starters, the Lakers actually seem to have assets that can be appreciated over in Houston.

If you take a glance at the roster of the Clippers or the Bucks, pretty much none of their players is right for a rebuilding team. How about the Miami Heat then? Well, their previous reluctance to part ways with any of their core players renders them clear underdogs in the market.

In a perfect world where James Harden was happy in Houston, ultimately straying away from any trade requests, then yes, P.J. Tucker would be considered nearly untouchable. He would go on as a starter and possibly get a large compensation in free agency.

Times have changed and the Houston Rockets are with their backs against the wall. They have to move the experience forward soon, otherwise, the potential suitors will look for alternative options, ultimately leaving them empty-handed when he inevitably leaves in the summer.
