3. Josh Jackson

Speaking of the steps a rebuilding team needs to take, finding young guys looking for a fresh start after things did not go according to plan in their first stop is part of that process. Josh Jackson came back to his hometown team after things started to turn around last year with the Memphis Grizzlies. Even still, no one could have expected how he would look in the early goings of this season.

Jackson was a double figure scorer in five of the first six games of the season, highlighted by a 27 point outburst against the Atlanta Hawks. Before the former top five pick hurt his ankle he finally seemed to be figuring things out and could make a case to be the second best player on the team.

Since the injury e has looked less comfortable but is slowly getting back to form. His efficiency has dipped but if he can get back to form he is the exact kind of player rebuilding teams should be targeting. He is playing for his NBA lift and when he was healthy he looked like a core foundational piece for his team. At still only 23 years old he is on the timeline of the rest of the Pistons young players and could grow alongside them. Fingers crossed he gets back to his pre-injury ways.
