NBA top trade targets still available – Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards

With James Harden traded, Bradley Beal becomes the top trade target league-wide. Beal has been a staple in trade speculation for the past several years, and although the Washington Wizards have kept him on the roster, all eyes shift toward him as the team is off to yet again another abysmal start to the season.

The guard currently leads the league in scoring at 34.9 points per game, putting on an offensive showcase night in and night out. However, it has not translated to much success, as the Wizards currently sit at 14th in the Eastern Conference at 3-8. Washington is firing on offense, but as Beal previously stated, “we can’t guard a parked car,” which has significantly hindered the team’s success this season.

While Beal has not requested a trade and the organization has not said that they will be taking calls on him, speculation has started to ramp up. After the Harden deal, teams are itching to make a blockbuster trade to shore up their contending chances, and no option gives them a better chance to do that than Bradley Beal. Many playoff contenders would be willing to sell the farm for the two-time All-Star, and he could alter the NBA standings entirely.

Two teams, in particular, that make sense for Beal are the Denver Nuggets and New Orleans Pelicans, as they have the assets to potentially get a deal done. Beal’s superstar presence could undoubtedly make either franchise a more formidable threat, and they should be closely monitoring the situation as the season progresses.
