Obi Toppin already plays like a pro

Of course, there were other lottery picks and the other teams behind Okoro and Williams. A player who many thought would go to the Bulls, Obi Toppin became a New York Knick on draft night and he had an impressive showing in the preseason.

The Knicks roster is full of young talent, and they have been for the past two seasons. The 22-year-old Toppin is just the topping on the cake with his superior skills that were clearly refined by his college program, the Dayton Flyers, and thus that gives the 6’9” star a unique experience. First impressions of the Knicks draftee are likely to be synonymous throughout the league: Toppin plays like a pro.

Toppin possesses the one true expectation of NBA rookies, and that’s to show that they can play at the pro level in a short amount of time.

“So little time, so much to do” seems to be the theme this year. Many rookies are out to prove the same thing and should be.
