In their first taste of the NBA, the 2020 rookie class is proving worthy of their picks as they make an early impact behind their teams.

This story is about two things. This year is going to be one for the rookies, and also, that the 2020 rookies are great fits and important to their teams, so it’s easy to see why.

What I mean by “one for the rookies” is that this season is going to be centered around the rookies and the 2020 class carries a lot of superstardom that can be detected at first glance.

It isn’t necessarily a “make or break” thing, as many are on their way to knowing what “championship or bust” means. However, it is an important season defined by what the rookies bring to the table to their teams.

The first month of the NBA season has been filled with highlights from the rookies and many got their first and best looks in preseason. Rookies like Obi Toppin, Isaac Okoro, Killian Hayes, Patrick Williams and others lead a pack of talented rookies who are doing exceptionally well as pros.

That’s the other thing. The rookies are exceptional fits for their teams which they were drafted by, and many of them are going to have long-lasting professional careers.

Okoro, Toppin, and the others come from diverse and well-rounded basketball backgrounds whether it be due to their college experience or their God-given gifts, so that makes them perfect fits for an NBA organization like the Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks.

Watching the rookies get acclimated into the league is always an exciting experience, and it’s better when the rookies are putting up numbers and making a name for themselves that’s grabbing the attention of all around the world. Watching the rookies this year will leave many taken aback by the talent and maturity the picks have shown in their first month on an NBA team, and it’s even better considering the NBA has been tested by a pandemic.

In the midst of a pandemic, these future stars have taken control of their future one game at a time.
