New Orleans Pelicans trade target No. 1 – Terrence Ross, Orlando Magic

Terrence Ross has been one of the more underrated sixth men in the league for several years now, and he would be a fantastic fit for the New Orleans Pelicans. The 29-year-old is one of the most explosive wing players off the bench in the entire league, and he is off to a red-hot start this season with the Orlando Magic.

Throughout 10 games, Ross is currently putting up career numbers, averaging 16.5 points on a .444/.400/.912 slash line, 2.4 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Ross is a certified scorer, and as evident by his 40 percent 3-point clip on the season, he is not afraid to let it fly from deep. While the guard does not help alleviate the team’s playmaking issues, the scoring punch he provides might be satisfying enough for a team that desperately needs it.

Contract wise, Ross would be around for the foreseeable future if the Pelicans could pull off a move for him. Ross will make $13.5 million this season and be under contract for the following two, but his salary decreases as time progresses. That combination of stability and affordability, along with his stellar play, makes the guard all the more enticing as a potential trade target.

It should be noted that the Orlando Magic have not made Terrence Ross openly available in any trade discussions just yet. However, they have been ravaged by injuries, and if their position in the standings continues to plummet, it would make sense to consider moving some pieces for future assets. Ross would be one of the most highly sought after commodities on the trade market if he is made available, and the New Orleans Pelicans would have the pieces to get a deal done.
