Denver Nuggets: Why they need to trade for James Harden
By Corey Rausch
The Denver Nuggets are finally stringing together some wins but that does not mean they should be complacent. They should trade for James Harden.
After getting a win Sunday night the Denver Nuggets are back to an even record and are starting to right the ship. Nikola Jokic has been a true delight and has somehow exceeded expectations by leading the league in overall assists thus far.
The unfortunate truth is that the team is still in a weird place. Jamal Murray has been mostly inconsistent, not nearly playing to the level that he was when last we saw him. Gary Harris is continuing to be the player that we saw last season, which is less than ideal. Given the turbulence at the top of the conference (outside of the reigning champions) it may be the right time for them to make the move to catapult them over the rest.
So if we are going to make a move, why not look at the biggest trade rumor out there. It is time for the Denver Nuggets to make the call and get into the James Harden sweepstakes. They have the trade pieces to get the deal done and are the type of team that can capitalize on this type of trade to move into legitimate title contention.
We will start by looking at the type of trade package they could offer and why they should do it. Then, I will make a case for why this is the perfect fit for Harden and why the Nuggets should do it now while they will have the chance.
